Meditation

First, I would like to point out to you that meditation is all about you spending time with yourself. Meditation is all about You getting to know You. You will find many different ways to meditate to go with the many different personalities that we all have. There is no right or wrong way. Find a meditation technique that you enjoy and spend the time with yourself. As you spend more time with yourself, you will deepen your relationship with Who You Are, and you will be led to what works for you. YOU are your greatest teacher. Meditate to get to know Who You Are!

What Is Meditation?

Meditation is the state of higher awareness. The biggest misconception about meditation is that one should not think or have thoughts during meditation. Thoughts are natural and are not a problem to the meditator. Thoughts can come and go; it is the space that they come from and go to on which we place our attention.

You want to be like this Buddha in the picture. Buddha is lying there relaxed and undisturbed by the thoughts that are going on around him. Tune into the space of meditation by placing your attention between or behind the thoughts. If you think, “I am meditating,” between “I” and “am” is space and between “am” and “meditating” is also space. You become aware that this space is like the canvas or background on which the thought appears. A painting is painted on a canvas. The canvas is always there behind the paint as the space is there behind the thought. This space is stillness, and the stillness is what you are tuning into.
